If it successfully attacks, it will do 55 damage to the player then swim some distance away, as if losing interest. When charging, it will open up its mouth and make a loud, echoing screech. To attack a target, it will spiral up and charge. As the leviathan moves through the water, it leaves trails behind it. Unlike the outer body, the inner body has a distinct, thin neck joining the head and body. The inner body is long and thin, and covered in pulsating, bioluminescent orange stripes with many orange tipped protrusions ending with blinking bioluminescent orange glows. I beg to whoever finds this: please take good care of Javier. Heres my time capsule for my 2nd playthrough. The outer body is transparent, making the smaller, inner body visible. I even rotated it in every direction and none of the other sides worked either. It has a rectangular mouth with a glowing barbule lure beneath. A small sail sits on top of the head, and two long structures protruding from either side of its head which bear similarities to the cephalofoil of a hammerhead shark. The Ghost Leviathan has a soft, bioluminescent, transparent outer membrane covering a muscular, blue, inner body which features many darker blue stripes, 12 yellow, bioluminescent eyes as well as six, possibly vestigial fins on the torso section. Since the Ghost Leviathans in the Crater Edge are able to survive there. Despite being much smaller than the Sea Emperor Leviathan, the Ghost Leviathan's eggs can be far larger, capable of growing to sizes far too large for the creature to lay, suggesting that the eggs can grow drastically after being laid. As the leviathans mature and become too large for their home, they migrate to the open, surface world biomes such as the Grand Reef and Blood Kelp Zone, consuming Ampeels and Crabsquids in the Northern Blood Kelp, and shoals of fish and possibly even Sea Treader Leviathans in the Grand Reef, until eventually migrating to the Crater Edge, roaming freely in the open water and constantly growing larger until they die. The Ghost Leviathans' life cycle begins in the Lost River as juveniles, they consume the Ghostrays and River Prowlers and potentially other juveniles. According to PDA scan entries of the Cove Tree, the eggs were laid there when the tree was small, and the branches have grown around the eggs to protect them until conditions are right to hatch. If it is near a Jellyshroom after taking damage, it will attempt to shelter within it.The Tree Cove is currently the only known nesting ground of this leviathan species (although they are not present around the tree), with its massive glowing bulbs being their eggs which are blue and purple. When Crabsnakes are damaged, they will shake violently. If a small fish, such as an Eyeye or an Oculus swims into the entrance of a Jellyshroom with a Crabsnake inside, the Crabsnake will attack and kill it. They can only be accessed after the Crabsnake leaves. They will not attack, however, and instead will let out hissing noises before going back into their Jellyshroom.Ĭrabsnakes will lay their eggs inside the Jellyshroom. Crabsnakes can be observed peeking out of Jellyshrooms if the player approaches one in their submersible or with a Camera Drone. The Crabsnake will attack the Seamoth for minor damage, the Prawn Suit for very minor damage, and will ignore the Cyclops. It will also leave its mushroom on its own so it can patrol the surrounding area, or seek out another mushroom to reside in. Unless agitated again by the player, it will eventually return to the Jellyshroom and wait again. Sometimes, after having finished its attacks, the Crabsnake falls back into the mushroom other times it will leave and swim around the area. While being attacked by the Crabsnake, the player is trapped in the same way they would be while being attacked by the Reaper Leviathan. It is worth noting that the Stasis Rifle will not work while the Crabsnake is in the Jellyshroom. At that point, it will spring out and grab them as a surprise attack. The Crabsnake waits inside a Jellyshroom in an upright position until the player gets too close. The Crabsnake's head sports two pairs of small fangs resembling a crab’s pinchers, in its small, rectangular mouth, and two much larger black-tipped claws on either side. It is possible that these are Jellyshroom spores growing on the Crabsnake, in a similar fashion to how barnacles live on whales. The top of its body is bright pink, with horizontal reddish-brown stripes every few feet along its entire length, along with many bright purple dorsal growths, which appear to be from another life form, growing on the creature's back. These fins undulate as it moves, and emit a violet bioluminescent glow. Eggs usually are considered to be belonging to an unidentified fauna until they are analyzed using the Specimen Analyzer. They can be used for research which will allow the player to create more advanced objects, such as Upgrades. Eggs are the unhatched forms of certain types of fauna. The Crabsnake has a long, serpentine body with two long, translucent fins running from the neck, down the sides of its body, to the end of the tail. Eggs are part of the life form ecosystem of Subnautica.
